Mark Boe, president of Guardian Pharmacy of Minnesota in St. Cloud, recently received the Grassroots Supporter Award from LeadingAge Minnesota. The award recognizes individuals who make outstanding contributions to advocacy on behalf of long-term care, aging Minnesotans and the people who provide them with care.
“Mark is a strong advocate for aging issues in the state of Minnesota,” said Jon Lundberg, chair, LeadingAge Minnesota Board of Directors. “We sincerely thank Mark for his dedication and commitment to bringing together lawmakers, long-term care providers and other community leaders each year to proactively discuss and address the challenges and opportunities of Minnesota’s fast-growing aging population.”
Mark hosts an annual forum with both federal and state lawmakers to discuss issues facing long-term care. Topics have ranged from funding and reimbursement to regulatory initiatives and workforce challenges. This year’s forum brought together dozens of long-term care providers, including many LeadingAge Minnesota members, with lawmakers to discuss needed reform of the senior care reimbursement system and workforce challenges facing long-term care. These discussions helped raise awareness of legislation to create a new cost-based payment model and enhance funding for scholarship and loan forgiveness programs for nurses and nursing assistants who work in long-term care.
On behalf of Guardian Pharmacy of Minnesota, congratulations, Mark! Your passion to finding meaningful ways to serve the communities that care for aging Minnesotans is inspirational!
