This course was specifically geared towards Administrators and DON’s/ADON’s, but included pertinent information for various types of care settings, including; SNF, ALF, and AFC.
Topics included “Drug Diversion: Identifying, Preventing and Addressing the Problem” presented by Dean Schmiedt, Pharm D., Guardian Pharmacy of MN . We also had a special guest speaker William VanHoose, an Associate Director with Purdue Pharma (with DEA experience).

During this course, attendees learned about various aspects of drug diversion, the unique ways in which it can present itself and the multitude of ways in which it can negatively affect not only the resident, but the staff/families and the community.
Lunch was provided for all attendees, along with guided tours of our new (Since February 2017) pharmacy location!
