On April 12th, 2018 – 150 participants attended the annual spring training event offered by Guardian Pharmacy. Participants earned 2 contact hours, while enjoying complimentary lunch and networking with their peers from across central MN.
Attendees began the morning by discussing opioid stewardship, with a look at drug diversion, opioid addiction and tolerance. The course was led by Eric Christianson Pharm. D., BCPS, CGP. Eric is also the author of an Amazon best seller- “Pharmacotherapy”. Follow his blog at www.meded101.com
After guests enjoyed a complimentary poolside lunch/networking opportunity, attendees joined the next session, which gave insight into regulatory oversight of antibiotic awareness and stewardship. This class was led by Lynn Gerard RN, BSN. Lynn is also the Director of Quality Improvement, Education and Risk Management at Guardian Angels of Elk River.
Lastly, attendees were presented with 2 volunteer speakers with NAMI MN who bravely shared their dark days, acceptance, treatments, coping skills, hopes and triumphs while living with a mental illness. This course is called In Our Own Voice.
